It’s time for another cosplay interview, this time we meet Shinya Nightingale! Shinya Nightingale first caught my attention with her awesome anime cosplays! Let’s find out some more about Shinya Nightingale .
1) How did you get into cosplaying?
I get into Cosplay by a friend back in May 2013. I was a big anime and manga fan but had no idea what cosplay is. She did a joint cosplay with me and took me with her to a Con 🙂 Then I started to do it more and more and now it is an important part of my life.
2) Where do you get your inspiration and ideas to cosplay from? Is it from programs you watch now or childhood programs or both?
I get my ideas for conventions from programs and games that are our currently. But for costesting aka cosplaying-contests I also take inspiration from shows I watched when I was younger.
3) How do you put your outfits together are they 100% from scratch and if so what’s been your trickiest part to date?
When I was starting I bought all my cosplays. In the beginning of 2016 I started to make them myself. The most trickiest was how to make my the armor based on the anime Owari No Seraph.
4) What’s your favourite cosplay to date?
My favourite cosplay at the moment is Shigure Yukimi from owari no seraph. I cosplayed as her in the normal uniform and also in the armor version and take the cosplay to a lot of cons ^^
5) If you’ve cosplayed at a convention what was the experience like?
The experience with a cosplay at a con has been very good. I can’t imagine going to a con without a cosplaying! For me it is a lot of fun to show people my work and make new cosplay friends.
6) Can we expect to see you at any conventions this year?
Well for me the Conseason is over soon. I will only be at the Animagic and Connichi. They are both based in Germany and I will also hope to go to a little Swiss con called Aki No Matsuri to end my conseason up.
7) If you could cosplay as anyone and budget wasn’t an issue who would it be?
Ahri from League Of Legends 🙂 she is a cosplay dream of mine for so long now but making the tails would be expensive so I haven’t been able to do it as of yet. I don’t know when I’ll finally be able to cosplay as her but I hope the day will come!
8) Do you have any words of advice for up and coming cosplayers?
Just some little words. It doesn’t matter if people say the character you cosplay doesn’t suit you or the cosplay isn’t well made. It’s your work and your happiness you feel by wearing this cosplay! If you feel good in it then it is the right way because every cosplay is special and good in his own ways so keep on the good work and go on! ^-^
