Justice League Dark Moving Forward, ‘Snatches’ Gambit Director

Doug Liman

Director Doug Liman

‘They must just cancel the Gambit movie’ was my first thought after learning that Doug Liman who was gonna be the director for Gambit had jump-shipped to DC. He is taking an offer to direct one of the DC enterprise’s most iconic teams, the Justice League Dark, also referred to as the Dark Universe.

Gambit finds itself in another setback as the film has gone through numerous struggles to get off the ground. This is not the first time the film has lost a director as it previously lost Rupert Wyatt. The film also has had many production issues, including multiple script rewrites. It seems as this might be the final nail in the coffin.

As for The DC Universe, Warner Bros. keeps surprising us with the movies they keep adding to the already cluttered DC slate. It was recently confirmed that Man of Steel 2 was moving into production, and now comes Justice League Dark. It shows they have a lot of faith in their DC properties. That’s a good thing, considering some haters have been wanting the DC Universe to be scrapped, for whatever reasons they might have.

The plot details for JL Dark are still under wraps, and production start date has not been announced. Scott Rudin and Michael Gilio are respectively set to produce and write the epic.

No release date has been announced yet. Justice League Dark consists of an ensemble team of Constantine, Zatanna, Swap Thing, Deadman and Etrigan the Demon. It is unclear whether Matt Ryan who portrayed Constantine in the NBC show of the same name will reprise his role in the film.

Is Deadpool 2 On The Way And Will It Feature The X-Men?

xmen.jpg

The internet literally went into meltdown yesterday when Ryan Reynolds shared a potential poster for the sequel to Deadpool, unsurprisingly called Deadpool 2. You would think that the brains behind the first Marvel film to give fans what it actually wants and to break the fourth wall and blur the lines between reality and fiction, would give us a more original title.

Why did the internet go into meltdown you ask and you may be thinking I’m missing a key peice of information, but be patient here readers!

The reason why the internet literally flipped it’s nut is because of one thing! X-Men, yes X-Men, no not those guys from Game Of Thrones who have had thier winkies chopped off, yes winkies. I’m talking about the endless army of mutants spearheaded by the brainy Professer Charles Xavier and kickass Wolverine (Sorry Cyclops, Storm and Jean Grey you just don’t cut the mustard for me).

Now picture this Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, sound good? I know, we had X-Men Origins: Wolverine but to be honest that sucked! Yes it did, I mean when Will.I.Am is the best part about a film featuring Weapon X oops I mean Deadpool and Wolverine you know that it’ll suck more than me with a super sour chew bar.

So are the rumours true? Is Deadpool 2 on the way? Well yes and no, yes it is true Deadpool 2 is coming out soon, but will the x-Men feature at the moment, sadly no, as the poster was actually a fan made poster and not an official one.

Who would you like to see in Deadpool 2? Mine own personal choice would be Gambit but not the Channing Tatum one!

Gambit Movie Delayed

Gambit

Channing Tatum’s X-Men Spin-off Gambit has been pushed back with production delayed until late 2016.

Sources out of The Hollywood Reporter cite rewrites as the reason for the push-back which is unsurprising given how many directors have jumped on board during the pre-production phase, looking to put their stamp on the popular X-Men characters first solo outing.

Edge of Tomorrow Director Doug Liman will still helm the X-Men movie after taking over the reins from Rise of the Planet of the Apes Director Rupert Wyatt late last year. Lima however will first direct The Wall, a physiological thriller produced by Amazon studios, while re-writes are taking place.

Gambit is currently without a release date after 20th Century Fox removed the film from its upcoming list of movies. The films original release was for sometime in 2017 but 20th Century won’t be without a superhero film on its slate as Hugh Jackman’s final X-Men film Wolverine 3 will still hit cinemas on March 3 next year.

‘Deadpool Vs. Gambit’ Comic Book Series Announced

deadpool_vs_gambit

As Wade Wilson continues to dominate the Silver screen, X-Men mainstay Remy LeBeau looks to rain on his comic-book parade as Marvel announces Deadpool Vs. Gambit comic book mini-series coming this Summer.

The news was revealed at the recent ComicsPRO comic book submit explaining that the five-issue series will explore Deadpool and Gambits “secret, shared history”, with ComicBook.com elaborating that the two conmen worked together “just long enough to stab each other in the back.

Celebrated She-Hulk artist Kevin Wada will bring his talent to the covers with Danilo Beyruth providing the artwork across the pages. Thunderbolt writers Ben Acker and Ben Blacker will script the story as the Merc-with-the-Mouth takes on the Cajun-sensation when the first issue debuts this June.

Marvel looks to capitalise on 20th Century Fox’s record breaking success with Deadpool’s solo movie and are surely hoping that Channing Tatum’s Gambit film will do the same when it is released in 2017. With Deadpool 2 having already been green-light however, expect more R-Rated 4th-wall breaking shenanigans to come.
